Okay, I couldn't give this a lower rating because it really produced results, but let's just say I ran into a few speed bumps while using this. I ordered this because I get a sensitive, itchy, flaky scalp that I'm always looking for new ways to treat. I've found some great solutions but always willing to try more. I'll start with all the confusion. I have found that SO many product complaints generally come from a lack of reading the description, ingredients, or instructions, so I read everything several times, searched online, and used a translator on the back of the box...but still came up empty on exactly WHEN to use this. So, I've been using it as a pre-shampoo scalp mask, leaving it on as long as I have time for (sometimes up to several hours), but I don't know if that is what is intended. I did find by using a translator on the box that the recommended amount is 1 gram, which is laughable to any of us with thick hair. The other odd thing to me was the applicator. Thick hair with any kind of texture is going to take a lot more time (and product) to actually get the whole scalp with these short bristles! I section my hair to apply this, but it takes a bit of time. The amount of product I have to use to really feel like I got enough to my actual scalp, though, is more than enough that there is no way I could use this after shampooing and then dry and wear...I fear I would have that heavy-rooted, obvious-product look, but your mileage may vary. Since this is called "reedle shot," which is the VT line's name for spicule products, I expected a spicule feeling, especially since I've never used spicules on my scalp before. I was momentarily confused because spicule products generally contain hydrolyzed sponge, and this does not, but it does contain silica, which I learned is often used to make spicules. Hey, I learned something new! I don't get a strong spicule feeling on my scalp with this, but I do get a strong cooling, menthol feeling, so it is possible that is masking the whole spicule sensation. Beyond the vague directions and applicator clearly designed for straighter, thinner hair, I absolutely love what this does, so I had to give it 5 stars. The cooling sensation immediately soothes my irritated itchy scalp, and even a couple days after wash day I still don't have dry skin flakes! I also feel like the root area feels "cleaner" and looks more volumized. This is actually a big tube, enough for several uses, and if you follow instructions and make 1g work (although I'm not sure how) it will last a really long time. For me it will last because I'm using it pre-shampoo and my hair is washed only 1-2 times weekly depending on...

I love all the Reedle skincare I've tried from VT Cosmetics so I was super excited to see they made a scalp serum, and it's equally as good as the skincare! I get occasional scalp irritation/trapped heat/dryness and this works so well to combat that. I love the silicone comb cap (the serum comes out from the ends of the teeth so it goes right to my scalp instead of getting stuck in my hair) and it feels so cool and refreshing. It heals the irritation and gently exfoliates my scalp, hydrates, clarifies, and repairs and restores my scalp. I like that it has PDRN in the formula too. The needles don't hurt in my scalp either (it feels similar to the Reedle shots for your face but I feel it even less on my scalp since this product has the menthol to numb it) but even on spots where my scalp's barrier is damaged, it doesn't hurt or sting. This serum starts working immediately and the benefits last all night and through the next day. It also doesn't make my hair look greasy, stringy, or weird (my hair usually looks better than usual after using this since it keeps my scalp so healthy and soothed). My boyfriend gets occasional mild dandruff in the winter and he uses this scalp serum too and it stopped the dandruff too. I highly recommend!
